Bio
John Whittemore is a writer and physician based in Atlanta.
John Whittemore dedicated a majority of his life to the study of medicine. He underwent the rigors of medical school in Georgia and then for his residency he worked in rural Appalachia.
In delivering babies, attending to centenarians on their deathbeds, and caring for with all the traumas in between John Whittemore discovered a wealth of stories. The idea for “Heart Of The Earth” came to him while he was at a patient’s bedside in a makeshift clinic in a tiny town in the coalfields of southwest Virginia.
